May Dog with Fire Truck

Spirit, an 8-year- old hound mix, was born with a birth defect that caused a “dent” in her skull. As you can see from her photos, the dent is hardly noticeable and has no effect on her health, but we think it certainly makes her unique!May Dog 1

When she came to the shelter she was thin and looked like she needed some TLC, but she was so wiggly, outgoing, and lively that we thought Spirit was the perfect name for her.

May Dog with Firemen

Spirit is a happy-go- lucky girl who loves every person and dog she meets. She always has a big smile and is excited to give anyone and everyone sloppy kisses. Spirit likes to go for walks but also enjoys lounging around and getting plenty of affection. She has a quiet demeanor and a very gentle spirit. This precious girl would make a perfect pet for any family!

Millie Dog of the Month April

EDIT:  Upon posting this Dog of the Month post, we found out that Millie was adopted last weekend! She has a new fantastic home and fantastic new name- June!

Please meet possibly the best dog on earth! Ok, maybe not all of earth, but 1 year, 7 month old Retriever mix, Millie, is pretty incredible. She loves, loves loves other dogs. Millie can calm the rowdiest dog and get the most skittish dog excitable!!! She knows when to back off and call time out when if play gets too rough. Oh, and does she ever like humans!!!

Millie Dog of the Month

To be such a youngster, Millie is a chilled out little pupper. She enjoys walks, playing with toys, doggy friend time and just relaxing with you. She's kinda perfect. And she'd love to find a home soon!

Dog of the Month: Tank

We at Barley Bones are big believers in adoption when looking for a dog to join our families. We are teaming up with the Chattanooga Humane Educational Society for a Dog of the Month feature to share some of the area's most eligible dogs for adoption!

Dog of the Month: Tank

Handsome Tank is 6 and a half years old......no, he's not too old (Tank loves to play!!). No, he's not too young (Tank loves to chill out beside you on a soft blanket!!). Tank loves other doggos and loves people and kiddos. He loves snacks, so he will do just about anything you ask of him for a Barley Bone! We think Tank is pretty perfect and healthy and he's definitely a looker. Meet him once and he will kindly steal your heart.

Dog of the Month: Lilly

We at Barley Bones are big believers in adoption when looking for a dog to join our families. We are teaming up with the Chattanooga Humane Educational Society for a Dog of the Month feature to share some of the area's most eligible dogs for adoption!

Lilly Dog of the Month

Lilly is a 2 year old hound mix that is just a long-legged, lanky puppy at heart. Her ideal home would be with active adults. Lilly would like to join them running or hiking, or simply walking around the neighborhood. If they have children, older children -- pre-teens or teens -- are best. She gets along with playful dogs who can tolerate her fun, big-dog bouncy side, but not cats so much. A backyard to run in would be great, too.

Her high energy needs a firm, but loving hand. She has her chill-out times, too, with tummy rubs for her and licks for her human friends. She has joy for life and lots of love to give.

Lilly, Dog of the month

Even though Lilly needs a little work on her manners, the unconditional love that she shows is truly undeniable. We hope that special someone will be able to see past her quirks and see the beautiful, loving girl that we do! Come meet Lilly and her friends today at HES!

To ensure Lilly starts off their new life with their happy family, Barley Bones will be providing a 12 oz bag of either our Rewardable Bacon flavor or our Rewardable Cheese Fries spent grain dog treats. The adoptive parents will be given a coupon to the Barley Bones online store that can be redeemed for either flavor.

Dog of the Month: Randy

Randy for adoption, HES Chatt
Randy is a sweet senior but don’t let his age fool you because he still has quiet the spring in his step! He loves to explore and smell all the new smells while out and about on a walk. He is still very alert and agile for being a 13 year old distinguished gent, and will let you know when a stranger is approaching.
He would love to spend his golden years relaxing in a forever home. He is also a sucker for treats and will give you the most adorable look when he gets a whiff of something that smells tasty.
Randy also would like to let you know that his friend and October's Barley Bones Dog of the Month, Mason the playful pit bull, is still looking for a family to call his forever.

To find out more about Randy, Mason and their friends looking for a forever home, give the Humane Educational Society of Chattanooga a call at (423) 624-5302 or give them a visit during their open hours.

Also, to ensure Randy starts off their new life with their happy family, Barley Bones will be providing a 12 oz bag of either our Rewardable Bacon flavor or our Rewardable Cheese Fries spent grain dog treats. Dog of the Month: Mason

Happy Pit Bull Awareness month! Today we present a most Ador-A-Bull pupper named Mason. He's about 2 years old. Mason is the perfect representation of his breed.

Dog of the Month: Mason

He adores people and other doggies. He adores treats and loves to show off his manners when receiving them! (He can sit and ambidextrously shake and can lay down). We're quite certain you could teach a myriad of tricks for him to show off! Mason is playful and loving and sweet.....a fun mix of goofball, spunk and love. We all need some Ador-A-Bull in our lives and Mason costs only $49 this month.
