Dog of the Month: Mason

We at Barley Bones are big believers in adoption when looking for a dog to join our families. We are teaming up with the Humane Education Society for a Dog of the Month feature to share some of the area's most eligible dogs for adoption!

Dog of the Month: Mason

Happy Pit Bull Awareness month! Today we present a most Ador-A-Bull pupper named Mason. He's about 2 years old. Mason is the perfect representation of his breed.

Dog of the Month: Mason

He adores people and other doggies. He adores treats and loves to show off his manners when receiving them! (He can sit and ambidextrously shake and can lay down). We're quite certain you could teach a myriad of tricks for him to show off! Mason is playful and loving and sweet.....a fun mix of goofball, spunk and love. We all need some Ador-A-Bull in our lives and Mason costs only $49 this month.

Dog of the Month: Mason

To find out more about Mason and his friends looking for a forever home, give the Humane Educational Society of Chattanooga a call at (423) 624-5302 or  give them a visit during their open hours.

Also, to ensure Mason starts off their new life with their happy family, Barley Bones will be providing a 12 oz bag of either our Rewardable Bacon flavor or our Rewardable Cheese Fries spent grain dog treats. The adoptive parents will be given a coupon to the Barley Bones online store that can be redeemed for either flavor.

Axelle - Gigi's Rescue Pals! - Shelter Dogs for Adoption

Hi! I am Axelle! I am very bonded with my sister Kerrina, and we are very loving dogs! We love each other and equally love getting attention! Sometimes we jump on you at the same time for attention, but just need a little training to help with that! We are both house trained and rarely have accidents in our kennel.

We are a required pair, so please give us a chance soon :) We want to come home with you!

Elvis - Gigi's Rescue Pals! - Shelter Dogs for Adoption

I am a large male adult mixed breed.  Recently I had a nice adventure going to Groomingdale's for a bath and grooming.  The groomers noted that I was gentle and easy to handle. Next I went for a long walk around the Northshore.  I was very polite and did not pull on the leash. I had a red plastic toy that I carried everywhere. I love people and am friendly with other dogs. Our walk was about an hour, so I actually had to put the toy down and relax my jaw for a minute!!! When I went back to McKamey I was excited to see my many friends. Please consider me as a new family member!

BARLEY BONES IN COSTUME FOR A GOOD CAUSE

The folks over at our local animal rescue shelter always come up with the most creative ways to find happy new homes for their dogs and cats. For the first time this year they hosted a Halloween themed adoption party! It was equipped with amazing food and a Beer Garden, so yeah, it was a party. The best part about the event was the seriously low prices for already spayed and neutered fur babies! Almost everyone and their dog showed up to the Barktoberfest & Meowlloween event dressed to kill McKamey’s costume contest. Since we couldn’t attend the awesome event but still wanted to participate in the dressing up, we turned our regular treat bags into a scarier version of themselves and donated them to the cause. Every party should have treat bags or party favors, right? Besides having treats nearby when you’re training a new pet is a necessity! Twenty-five bags were given away to the 25 animals who were adopted first and some were sold at the event - the rest are on sale at McKamey Animal Shelter. A bag of dog treats are essential to have around when you're training a new pup! If you didn’t know about this party and would’ve liked to be there, start following McKamey Animal Shelter on Facebook and stay on top of the furry fun!

Hi! My name is Starla. I am on owner surrender. I was returned to McKamey because my owner was deployed and I couldn't go with them. I have some training and I am for the most part house broken. If you would like to meet me please ask a staff member or volunteer to do so!
